Mainly it is construct by 7 Major parts:-
The keys are made of wood covered with plastics. Older pianos may have keys covered with ivory.
2) The Dampers
Dampers stop the strings from sounding once you release the key or the sustain pedal.
3) The Hammers
Hammers are made of wood and are covered with tightly packed felt. They hit the strings and the bounce away so the string continues to sound.
4) The Lid
For grand piano, we shall open the lid when we want to start the piano learning – learn how to play the piano. Open the lid when playing will give the piano a bigger and louder sound.
5) The Strings
These are mainly grouped in three and pairs and produce the sound when hit. Try not to touch them as they will rust, affecting their sound.
6) The Tuning Pins
These hold the strings to the body of the piano and alter their pitch when tuning.
7) The Pedals
There are altogether 3 pedals in our standard piano.
The right Pedal
The right pedal is the sustain pedal (not the loud pedal – there is no such thing on piano). It lifts all the dampers off the strings together. This is the most frequently used pedal.
The left pedal
The left pedal is the soft or una corda pedal. For the grand piano, it moves the whole action of the piano slightly to one side, aligning the hammers with only one string (therefore, the name “una corda” – “one string”). On an upright piano, it moves all the hammers closer to the strings, reducing the throw of the hammer and hitting the strings more softly.
Middle Pedal
Some pianos have a middle pedal. If it’s a grand piano parts, the middle pedal is the sostenuto pedal. Which is the special kind of sustain pedal. On an upright piano parts, it is usually a practice pedal with a locking mechanism. It lowers a felt strip over where the hammers hit the strings, making the piano play very softly – handy for late night practice or when your dedication to practice becomes wearying for others.
