Get your Middle C key first before you start your piano lessons. The white keys just to the left of the sets of two black keys. C is regarded as the most basic note.

Step 6, Get your accidentals key
Get the accidentals, for instant the sharps and the flats. These are mainly used with the black keys. A black key to the right is the sharp, whereas the black key to the left is the flat.
Step 7, Learn to count the beats
Get your beat counts and identify whether it is 1, 2, 3, 4 counts or else. They will be consistent in a musical number whether fast or slow. My advice, using the foot tapping might be the best way for your beat counting.
Step 8, Learn to count the halves and quarters
Get your halves and quarters counts correctly. If a whole note has four beats, a half note has two and a quarter has one.
